Perfectly Punctual Campaign

Innovative approach to attendance issues in early grades

Honoring parents to improve on-time attendance

Parent involvement campaign to strengthen academic outcomes and school climate

On-Time Attendance is as important to children’s success in school as it is to parents’ ability to sustain a job.

The Perfectly Punctual Campaign engages parents as allies in children’s education and honors them for getting their preschoolers  and early elementary grade children to school on time.  The process emphasizes the significance of time-on-task in preschool and kindergarten to children’s  long term academic outcomes and success.

Research underscores the importance of early learning. Research on punctuality in preschool indicates tardiness is a widespread and largely overlooked. Research on chronic absenteeism in kindergarten and first grade documents the long term academic impact of missing school in the early grades.

The Perfectly Punctual Campaign conveys  to parents the critical message that research has demonstrated: on-time attendance in the early years is important to children’s long term academic success.

Chart your progress toward on-time attendance

Use LLF’s Scorecard and Tally to raise awareness, strengthen counting and sorting skills, and provide an easy way for teachers and parents to recognize patterns.

Use the Checklist, adapted for preschool in cooperation with Attendance Works, to assess your priorities and track desired change.

We are assembling a team for a national impact study using Perfectly Punctual Campaign materials and strategies. To learn more, please contact us.
